To answer your question, you do not bring your qualifying chip count to the Final Table. So no real advantage to sitting at 3rd base. Then a marker moves on seat to the left and that person places his/her bet first followed by seat 3,4, etc. They make you place your bet amount in order of seats for the first hand. When seated at the final table they let the top qualifier pick first, then second qualifier, and so on. I was given a bottle of very very very super expensive champagne for being top qualifier as well as the aforementioned t-shirt. You will probably need a little over $5000 to make it but of course it can vary from tournament to tournament.
They have a tote board with the top 7 totals that come back for the finals where they repeat the process of playing 7 hands with $1500 in chips. Your total will be the number of chips at the end of the 7 hands. Lose them all on any hand and you are out. The table will then play 7 blackjack hands provided you still have chips. They will give you $1500 in chips, at least that was the amount on the Freedom in May. You will be seated at the table with most likely 7 total players including yourself.
